I created this scent in memory of my grandmother, Francis "Neelie" Cauthen.
She loved roses!
She had a green thumb & could make anything grow! But her pride were her rose bushes.
Her yard was small so she never had more than 4-5 plants of roses. Each bush would be different. And I couldn't wait until they were ready to be picked.
Each Sunday we'd both go & look at the bushes. She'd look over them one by one until we had roses that were perfect for the picking.
I wanted to recreate the smell of those roses. And because she loved Victorain Roses we used that as a starting point.
We added a dry powder down because she always used powder after her evening bath.
We also added some other proprietary notes but these are the two dominant scents.
She always smelled of roses & powder although I never saw use perfume of any kind.
I called the scent Neelie's Kitchen Roses because she also loved to cook! And many of the roses would find themselves on the window sills in her kitchen.
